After a succesful premiere in December, Michele Rho’s documentary feature “Benvenuti In Galera” hit movie theatres in January. It was extremely well received by both audicence and critics, it’s been screening for over a month in Milan, got additional projections all over Italy, France and Estonia, and apparently more to come soon.
We’re overwhelmed by this reaction, which comes after a long and demanding work: shot over three years, edited in about two…I was so involved in this project that in addition to editing it, I ended up co-producing it!

Action Shelley’s debut album released!
The debut album of my new musical project Action Shelley has been finally released on Shuttle Records, after almost 3 years of production and an endless time spent in writing and accumulating ideas.
It’s a pop-rock record, in the noblest sense of the term, and I’m proud to have involved many great musicians in it: starting from the amazing Boris Savoldelli on vocals, the inimitable Claudio Giorgi on keyboards, drummers Chuck Sabo (formerly with XTC, Natalie Imbruglia, Elton John) and Thomas Ebner and multi-instrumentalist and longtime XTC collaborator Stu Rowe, to dear friends like bass players Maurizio Mambretti (formerly of JTBTB), Carlo Ferrara (formerly of Mala Hierba) and Giovanna Ferrara, plus very special guest Natalie Purton (who played with Michael Buble, Pulp and Cinematic Orchestra) on strings. The album was mixed by Alberto Callegari at Elfo Studio and mastered by legendary Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering Studio.
All these amazing talents enriched my dream of writing and producing good, smart, handcrafted pop music with a “brit grit”.
It was challenging, it was fun, and now it’s your time to listen, and hopefully, enjoy it.
It’s finally time for some Action!
“I’ll Drive You Around” is the first single to be released from Action Shelley’s debut album, scheduled for September 15th.
It’s accompanied by a wonderous animated video directed by Francesco Scarponi that you can watch on YouTube as well as in the brand new Action Shelley page
in the Music section of this site.
The track is available for free at actionshelley.bandcamp.com
(where pre-orders for the album are also officially open), and on all the digital platforms you can think of.
The rocket has been launched!
Applications for my first official masterclass are officially open!
I’ve been planning for a long time to make something that could deliver the best of what I have learnt through 25 years of editing work, and the best of what I have learnt through my teaching experiences.
For all those who have undertaken the film and video editing profession, or who are seriously willing to do so: this aims to give you the necessary tools to concretely understand and improve your work, without placing barriers between cutting fiction, documentary, advertising, musical projects. Quite the opposite, highlighting the common root of all these languages: the ability to tell a story.
Five days that will be hosted by Milan’s CFP Bauer during which I will be honored to share two meetings with two very special guests.

Finished editing of new feature film
“The Price Of Family” is the English title of the last feature film I have cut, a Christmas comedy starring Christian De Sica and Angela Finocchiaro, directed by Giovanni Bognetti.
The film will be released on Netflix from December 19th.
Upcoming new record from new band Action Shelley
Taking my time as always, but the release of the debut album of my new musical project Action Shelley is not that far…scheduled for next spring.
Action Shelley is an act of love for English pop music, which I have always loved but whose inspiration has hardly been recognizable in my music … until now!
Introducing Cinemarocchi.com version X
It’s been a while since Cinemarocchi.com hit the web for the first time.
Having lost count of past versions, I am now presenting this last one as the “X” version, because no matter what real number it is, this is certainly the ultimate, most effective, most revolutionary version of my website ever.
None of this would have been possible without the firm collaboration of Emanuele Galluzzo, who patiently crafted it following some very confused indications of mine.
Hope you visitors will find some interesting stuff in here and that you may discover with more clarity who I am and what I do, when I do something.
Yes, it definitely takes an “X”.
Ciriò to everyone.
